Schrade's Survival Hatchet has been developed for a variety of outdoor applications. The hatchet blade is made of a titanium-coated 3Cr13 stainless steel to effectively resist rust. The head has a hammer pommel opposite the blade, used for tasks such as breaking or hammering. The black glass-fiber filled PA handle is contoured for comfort and strong positive control. The handle's lower Ergonomic Green Phosphorescent TPR Rubber Grip will glow green at night. This glow can make it easy to find in a camp site or backpack. Housed in the bottom of the handle is a 4" ferro rod with lanyard. Simply scrape off the black coating and the rod is ready to start a fire. Also included is a molded thermoplastic sheath which can be worn belt side or protect the blade while stored in a backpack. This item comes in clamshell packaging.
